2006 7 Series Press Release
January 28th was the official press teaser release for the 2006 7 Series Lifecycle Impulse (Facelift). Here is a summary of the most important highlights:

Highlights:
- Four models: V8s = 750i and 750Li. V12s = 760i and 760Li
- New 4.8L V8 Valvetronic engine with 360 hp
- 6.0L V-12 is unchanged
- The 750i and 750Li will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds
- The rear track has been widened by 0.55 inches. Now, 18 inch wheels look proper. 19 inch wheels look great. 20 inch wheels look awesome.
- Re-designed hood, kidney grilles, headlights, taillights, rocker panels, front air dam and rear air dam give the MY06 7 Series a new sense dynamics, elegance and presence that is uniquely BMW. The car looks really hot!
- iDrive has been further enhanced for greater ease of use. The addition of dedicated AM/FM and Mode buttons a big step forward in reducing complexity. The menu structure utilizes the 5/6 Series color coding scheme. It is still 8 directions, but the main four menu directions are color highlighted. The Climate control menu has been completely revamped. The Navigation system and Entertainment menus are also much better.
- The CD changer (in the Premium Sound Package) now has MP3 CD capability.
- Bluetooth hands-free capability is standard.
- It is now possible to combine the Sport Package (ZSP) and Luxury
- Seating Package (ZLS). The complement of sportiness and luxury have never been better than for 2006.
- 19" Star Spoke Styling 95 is now that Sport Package wheel. Also, Front Comfort Seats are included in the Sport Package. Now, ZSP has the best looking wheel and the most comfortable and supportive front seats.
- There are four new exterior colors. The launch color is Monaco Blue metallic. It replaces Orient Blue metallic. Michigan Blue metallic replaces Slate Green metallic. Deep Green metallic replaces Oxford Green metallic. Barbera Red metallic replaces Chiaretto Red metallic.
